Enrique M. Ligot

Dr. Henry Ligot is the current Vice Dean of the School of Sciences and Engineering (SSE). He holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a Doctor of Communication degree from UP Open University. He teaches Engineering Economics and Basic Occupational Safety and Health.

After getting his Mechanical Engineering degree from UP, Dr. Ligot designed mini-hydroelectric power plants in the countryside and air conditioning systems for high-rise buildings. For two decades, he started and managed technical schools in the Philippines, Asia, and Africa, working with European, Asian, and American partners. Briefly, he was the Philippines’ private sector representative to the ASEAN and APEC Human Resource Development Working Groups, and after a decade of project consulting work with UN University colleagues, he helped establish SSE in 2009. 

In early 2022, with SSE and School of Management faculty members, he helped start SEMRI (Science Engineering & Management Research Institute), an interdisciplinary research institute for UA&P and other private and public institutions.
