Dr. Ma. Concepcion R. Lagos has been a full-time faculty with the Asia Pacific Studies Department of UA&P for 20 years and is the current Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs of the College of Arts and Sciences. She finished her Ph.D. in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2018. Her dissertation focused on the social history of sapatero in Marikina City, the country’s footwear capital. She continues to work on varying aspects related to this research, among them are the footwear industry’s resilience amidst calamities, the commodification of the city, and the Chinese-migrant footwear legacy in Marikina City and the Philippines. Her other present projects endeavor to contribute to research on Second World War women’s autobiographies; cities and spaces; area studies on the Asia-Pacific region; and online pedagogy. 

Because of the pandemic, she became a self-appointed homeschool instructor to both of her grade school children from 2020 to 2022.
