The Center for Research and Communication, together with the National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines (NADPOP), will hold a “Data Protection Officers Foundational Course” on March 11 to 14.
An interactive, instructor-led training course with study material by subject matter experts, the foundational course adheres to international standards and is a first step to becoming a full-fledged Data Protection Officer. By the end of the session, participants will be Certified Data Protection Specialists after an examination which will gauge their competencies in the following areas:
- The Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and its implementing rules and regulations
- The WHATs, WHYs and HOWs of data protection and implementing data security in the enterprise
- The duties, roles, responsibilities and accountability of a Data Privacy / Protection Officer
- The accountability and responsibilities of the enterprise in protecting its assets (specific to data in relation to personal data of its stakeholders)
The course will be held at the Executive Café of the University of Asia and the Pacific, Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
