In recognition of Dr. Celerino Tiongco’s decades of unfailing commitment and his fruitful leadership in building the UA&P School of Education and Human Development (SED), the University is pleased to announce his promotion and appointment to the rank of Emeritus Associate Professor. Currently the Dean of SED, the University continues to rely on his contributions in advancing its educational goals.
Dr. Tiongco’s involvement in UA&P started in 1975 among those who headed the Center for Research and Communication’s degree programs. In his long years of dedicated service, he has seen the University through its development stages—including its attainment of University status—serving it in various capacities: as Corporate Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Executive Director of the Center for Management, Vice President for Communications, and Director of Strategic Business Economics Program, among others.
Dr. Tiongco holds a master’s degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management and Doctor of Education from the Teachers College, Columbia University.
