Graduate student Ma. Blanca S. Dela Cruz was one of the winners of the 13th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards held last September 11 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Her book Grace upon Grace: A Widow’s Journey was chosen “Best Book in Family Life” by the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc.

Currently enrolled in the Values Education major under the UA&P School of Education and Human Development’s (SED) two-year Master of Arts/Master in Education program, Ms. Dela Cruz is a Social Studies teacher and Grade School mentor at PAREF Woodrose School. Her book describes her personal journey in faith and grace as a widow and single mother to her cancer warrior child. It chronicles how she managed to rise above her fears and found joy even in moments of grief and sorrow.

Grace upon Grace: A Widow’s Journey is written not only for widows, but also for those seeking inspiration or affirmation that despite personal struggles, life is still good for the very reason that God’s grace is sufficient, limitless, and overflowing.
