UA&P delegates from the Junior College program won first runner-up in the “UP JMA MarkEd 360: Next” case competition held last May 29. Composed of leader Jamie Alabin (26YP, MAPE-IRD), Marco Agonia (26YP, MSIE), Jove Calalo (16YP, MScM), Charles Caluste (16YP, MScM) and Christian Paculaba (16YP, MAIMC), the team bested more than 170 students from the other competing high schools.
The national competition was organized by the UP Junior Marketing Association, the premier marketing organization of the University of the Philippines, and GeiserMaclang Communications Inc., an internationally awarded marketing consulting agency.
The UA&P team submitted a campaign concept paper for Angkas during the initial phase, qualifying them a spot as one of the top finalists, and pitched their marketing proposal in the final phase to a panel of advertising and public relations executives from GeiserMaclang. Within a week, they conceptualized “Asan Ka Ba Dapat?”—a marketing campaign that aims to influence the public to conquer their fear, get back on the road safely and consider Angkas as their transport of choice.
