UA&P President Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog was one of the speakers at the first ever SPARTA Conference held last February 24 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City. The event served as the launch of Project SPARTA (Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics R&D, Training and Adoption), which aims to “put in place the necessary online education, research and development mechanisms and infrastructure to not only enable the industry of data science and analytics but also to advance smart governance practices.”
Representing the education sector, Dr. Padojinog discussed the importance of data analytics in the future and what educational institutions can do to prepare students to remain relevant in an increasingly data-driven world.
Dr. Padojinog also presented the following video, which details UA&P’s analytics programs, and what makes them unique:
Project SPARTA is an initiative by the Department of Science and Technology in partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines and its cooperating agencies Analytics Association of the Philippines and Coursebank. It aims to train and graduate 30,000 learners in data science, analytics and related fields through online learning.
