The Board of Trustees of the University of Asia and the Pacific Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Atty. John Philip R. Yeung as the fifth President of the University of Asia and the Pacific effective August 18, 2025.
Atty. Yeung brings with him a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, law, teaching, and public service, as well as a strong commitment to the values and mission of our university as a homegrown UA&P alumnus. He graduated with a degree in Humanities with a Professional Certificate in Political Economy in 2005. Thereafter, he obtained his Master’s in Entrepreneurship and, subsequently, his Juris Doctor degree.
His initial foray into business consisted of running his parents’ pharmaceutical manufacturing company before venturing into entrepreneurship with business interests in real estate, beverage manufacturing, food service, finance, and information technology. As a passion project, he founded the Yeung Law Office, a property litigation firm assisting entrepreneurs with their property and business issues while maintaining a no-corruption, no-influence peddling policy. In 2023, Atty. Yeung was elected as a barangay councilor in Ayala Alabang, where he crafted ordinances and policies to improve the safety and security of the residents. As a pro-family advocate and a dedicated father of six, he has also spearheaded an effective parenting program conducted by Educhild Foundation.
Atty. Yeung is a faculty member of San Beda College-Alabang and UA&P Institute of Law, teaching Constitutional Law, Local Government Law, and Property Law. Prior to teaching law, he also taught Media Law at UA&P’s School of Communication (now School of Media and Marketing) where he also previously taught entrepreneurial marketing. His entrepreneurial ventures, combined with his passion for education, law, and public service, have led to successful pursuits recognized by the business and academic community, demonstrating exceptional leadership and vision.
As President, Atty. Yeung will lead UA&P into its next chapter of growth and innovation, continuing our pursuit of academic excellence, research advancement, and community engagement while safeguarding the university’s Christian identity. We are confident that under his leadership, the University will achieve new milestones and further strengthen its reputation as a leading institution of higher learning.

At this moment of transition, we also express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Winston Conrad B. Padojinog for his 10 years of exemplary leadership and dedicated service to the University as President. Under his stewardship, the University hurdled the transition of basic education to the K-12 curriculum through the Six-Year Integrated Program (6YP); continued the legacy of academic innovation with undergraduate programs such as Accountancy, Management Accounting, Data Science, Health Humanities, Psychology, and Civil Engineering, and graduate programs such as Business Analytics, Human Capital and Organization Development, and PhD in Business Economics; and diversified our program offerings with the launch of the UA&P Continuing Real-World Education (CORE) dedicated to customized professional and executive education, and the Center for Family Business Excellence (CFBE) focused on the values-driven transformation of family enterprises. With his strategic thinking and foresight, the University pursued digitalization that facilitated our transition during the lockdown and post-lockdown; enhanced faculty and student experience through the establishment of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL); prioritized the timely completion of key infrastructure projects such as the University Residence Hall, Library expansion, University Student Commons, and The Nest; revitalized fundraising through the Fund Development Office and Development Board; and strengthened synergy through the Research and Extension Cluster and academic research through the establishment of the University Research Office.
Dr. Padojinog also blazed trails by enabling the University to attain autonomous status from CHED since 2016 and be recognized for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings in 2020. His leadership was pivotal to sustaining UA&P’s operations and financial stability during the COVID-19 crisis and in formulating the UA&P Strategic Vision 2030 in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees, which led to forming an Advisory Board for the eventual business school and securing our plans to establish our presence in Cebu City. Throughout his tenure, he has led with vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the University’s mission, leaving a lasting impact on our institution and the entire community.
We thank Dr. Padojinog for his remarkable contributions and wish him continued success in his future endeavors. He will serve as the UA&P President until the 30th University Graduation Rites on 16 August 2025. Upon the endorsement of the Board of Trustees, he will remain as the Center for Research and Communication Foundation, Inc. (CRCFI) President and will continue helping UA&P through research, executive education, and fund development.
Atty. Yeung will assume his post as UA&P President during the University Opening Rites in August. Details of the investiture shall be announced separately.
We invite the entire University community to join us in warmly welcoming Atty. Philip Yeung and in extending our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stan Padojinog.
