The University Research Office (URO) promotes the University Research Agenda (URA) as the University’s principal exponent of multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research. It conducts activities that pave the way for engendering multi-disciplinary research based on the URA (URM, pp. 18-19). It channels the academic researchers’ spirit of teamwork by creating venues to publicize research interests and projects; supporting emerging research clusters inspired by the URA; and facilitating the coordination for projects that involve researchers from different units. (See also Levels of Research in URM, p. 4).
The URO works with the UA&P Research Ethics Review Board (RERB) towards compliance with research ethics standards.
Other important functions of URO are as follows:
1. Support the organization of University activities that foster research excellence, productivity, and culture through seminars, academic conferences, panel discussions, and colloquia.
2. Create systems and programs to develop and support the individual researchers and research groups within the university.
3. Establish linkages with other institutions and external entities to promote multidisciplinary research.
