The Susan Ople Labor Migration and Development Resource Center in Makati officially opened its doors on March 27, 2025, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and program organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

The event honored the enduring legacy of the late DMW chief Susan Ople. Among those who gave their messages were DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome Alcantara, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). During the ceremony, DMW Secretary Cacdac recognized UA&P University Research Office Executive Director Dr. Veronica Esposo Ramirez for her exceptional contributions to migrant research and praised the University of Asia and the Pacific for its significant and generous contribution in the establishment of the Resource Center.

To close the event, guests were invited to tour the Library Facilities, showcasing the wealth of resources available for research and development in labor migration.

The event was headed by the DMW Office of the Undersecretary for Policy and International Cooperation, led by Usec. Patricia Yvonne Caunan, along with DMW Institute for Advanced and Strategic Studies on Migration and Development (IASSMD) Director Jasmine Ann Gapatan and Migration Research Division Chief Labor and Employment Officer Maureen Oreiro.
