Robert Cortes holds a PhD in Social Communication from the Pontifical University of Santa Croce (Rome, Italy), a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership from Columbia University (New York, U.S.A.), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Velez College (Cebu City, Philippines). He obtained a post-graduate degree in Ancient Philology from Polis – The Jerusalem Institute of Languages and the Humanities.
His main areas of study and teaching include communication and media ethics; interplay of entertainment media, cultures, and societies; and pedagogy and applications of language and communication. His dissertation was a critical evaluation of the global communication ethics theory of the century’s leading media ethicist, Clifford Christians.
