Teacher Mel is a homegrown talent who graduated cum laude with a master’s degree in Child Development and Education. She is a Master Pre-School Teacher at the UA&P Child Development and Education (CDE) Center and is an Instructor II at the School of Education and Human Development, where she teaches CDE major courses, namely Technology for Teaching & Learning and Science in Early Childhood. Teacher Mel believes that learner-oriented teaching and learning is foundational in developing the whole child. Her fields of interest include family engagement, reading development, motivation, and socio-emotional learning in young children, and the psychology of the teaching and learning process. Currently, she is taking her doctorate degree in Educational Psychology at De La Salle University.
