After making the rounds at other top universities, the NYLON Manila Career Fair: University Takeover, made its last stop at UA&P last October 3. The fair sought “to help prepare college students in navigating the next chapters of their lives” through a variety of workshops and talks from industry professionals
Featuring representatives from some of the most recognizable brands in the country, the speakers focused on essential career skills and personal branding, and gave valuable advice on how to successfully navigate the job market. Interactive activities were also part of the career fair, which allowed students to engage with company representatives directly.
The main program, held at the Dizon Auditorium, was hosted by UA&P University Student Government President Eara Cayanga.
From the NYLON Manila website: “The NYLON Manila Career Fair: University Takeover has had a successful run the last few weeks, but all things, even good things, come to an end… After taking over De La Salle University, the University of the Philippines Diliman, and the Ateneo de Manila University, we made our way to the University of Asia and the Pacific in partnership with the University Student Government… Our speakers and panelists brought their A-game and imparted so much wisdom, such as the importance of soft skills and knowing that your happiness and success in your career starts and ends with you.”
The AGC Power Holdings Corp. Human Resources‘ booth was also available during the event so students could directly find out about (and apply to) job openings and internship opportunities at NYLON Manila and other AGC PHC brands. In addition, brands that participated in the career fair included Cetaphil and Benzac, Bioten, KISS Philippines, Solasta Jewelry, HelloLulu, Sunnies Face, Halia Co., and ARTernative Art Supplies.
