The UA&P Dragons’ Golf Cup started as a fundraiser in 2017 to commemorate UA&P’s 50th anniversary. The Phoenix Scholarship Endowment Fund was conceptualized by then University Student Government Chief Finance Officer Miguel V. Tan (BSBAM, 2018) and Chief of Staff Jay Regala (BSBAM, 2018), to help alleviate the financial struggles of fellow UA&P students in their final year of study. Mr. Tan is now a member of the UA&P Board of Trustees and Chairman of the MVT Group of Companies while Mr. Regala is the COO of Fasclad, Inc. and Director of X-Strym Ventures Corp.
Co-Presenters of the 1st UDGC included companies led by prestigious UA&P Alumni: Pacific Paints (BOYSEN) Philippines, Inc. (Mr. Justin Ongsue), Megaworld Corporation (Mr. Kevin Tan), Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (Mrs. Joanna Marie Soberano-Bergundthal), Wilcon Depot Inc. (Mr. Mark Andrew Belo and Ms. Careen Belo), and CWC Interiors.
