Merit Scholarship

Merit scholarships are highly competitive study grants that may cover up to 100% of tuition and other fees and are offered to the top applicants.

Qualifications:

  • No disciplinary or pending cases, and must not have been suspended for any reason.
  • Not a transfer applicant.
  • A high school average of at least 90.
  • UAPEE scores are in the 90th percentile.

 

Requirements:

  1. Complete application for admission (indicate that you are applying for Merit Grant).
  2. Letter of request written or noted by parent/guardian.
  3. Write-up of notable achievements within the last three school years. 
  4. Recommendation from the principal/head of the school where the applicant is currently enrolled.

 

Qualified applicants may be asked to submit other documents and undergo an interview to determine who will be offered the Merit scholarship. 

Top merit scholars may be offered the Dr. Placido L. Mapa Endowment Scholarship.

Dr. Placido L. Mapa Scholarship Endowment

The Dr. Placido L. Mapa, Jr. (PLM) Scholarship Endowment aims to provide student grantees with 100% coverage of tuition and miscellaneous fees, a 10-month stipend of PhP 8,000, internet allowance, a laptop, and an exclusive professional development coach from UA&P’s Board of Trustees.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • No disciplinary or pending cases, and must not have been suspended for any reason.
  • Not a transfer student.
  • A high school average of at least 90.
  • Incoming 6YP or College Freshmen.


Additional requirements will be requested as the scholars are short-listed.

Note: One cannot apply for the PLM Grant. It is offered to top merit scholars.

Financial Assistance Scholarship

Financial assistance is granted to students who meet certain criteria, such as financial need, entrance credentials, and academic performance in school. Grantees may be given up to 100% financial aid on tuition fees.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • No disciplinary or pending cases, and must not have been suspended for any reason.
  • Not a transfer student.
  • The family’s gross annual income should be less than PhP 800,000.00.
  • A high school average of at least 85.
  • UAPEE scores are in the 85th percentile.

 

Requirements:

  1. Complete application for admission (indicate that you are applying for Financial Aid).
  2. Letter of request written or noted by parent/guardian.
  3. Write-up of notable achievements within the last three school years. 
  4. Recommendation from the principal/head of the school where the applicant is currently enrolled.
  5. Fully accomplished financial aid scholarship application form found on your application dashboard.

 

Financial assistance grantees must render some hours of student assistantship for one school year. The number of hours to be rendered depends on the percentage of the grant awarded to the student.

Athletic Scholarship

The athletic scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel in sports and academics, upon the endorsement and recommendation of the Center for Student Affairs (CSA) and approval of the Scholarship Committee.

Student-athletes may enjoy partial (25%, 50%, 75%) to full discounts (100%) on tuition fee and/or fees waived for one academic year (i.e., two continuous semesters) or non-tuition grants (e.g., stipend, board and lodging allowance). Grantees may apply for renewal of the scholarship every year thereafter, provided they meet the set of qualification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • No disciplinary or pending cases, and must not have been suspended for any reason.
  • A high school average of at least 85.
  • An impressive athletic portfolio.

Please take note that applicants applying for the Athletic Scholarship shall have their tryouts before the release of their scholarships results.

Arts Scholarship

The UA&P Arts Scholarships are grants awarded to students who excel in arts, music, and academics. The scholarship is for one academic year (i.e., two continuous semesters) and may be renewed every year thereafter, provided retention requirements are complied with. The scholarship may be in the form of:

  • Partial (25%, 50%, 75%) to full (100%) discount on tuition and other fees
  • Non-tuition grants (e.g., stipend, board and lodging allowance)
 

The Arts Scholarship is currently available under the UA&P Chorale.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen.
  • No disciplinary or pending cases, and must not have been suspended for any reason.
  • High school average of 80 or better.
  • Must pass general admissions criteria
  • Artist’s Portfolio screened by the CSA – Office of Student Development
  • Positive interview results

 

Requirements:

  1. Complete application for admission
  2. Letter of Intent
  3. Two (2) recommendation letters (one from the Artistic Director or Art Instructor and one from the Guidance Counselor or Mentor) 
  4. Artist’s Portfolio
    • Solo performance recording (for Music, Dance, and Theatre)
    • Summary of Awards and/or Competitions
    • Proof of participation in arts and culture-related productions, showcases, conferences, etc. (e.g., certificates, photos, videos, etc.).

 

Applicants who qualified in the first phase will undergo a callback, which consists of a written exam and a performance evaluation with the Kultura Arts Guild (KAG) Artistic Director.

Unitas Grant

Unitas Grant scholarships are partial to full tuition discounts for dependents of eligible employees of the University. These grants are validated and certified by the Human Resource Management Office (HRM) following the policy and guidelines for the Unitas Grant.

Requirements:

  1. Complete application for admission (indicate that you are applying for Unitas Grant).
  2. Complete Unitas Grant application form (to be sent upon acceptance)
  3. Additional documents to establish dependence, e.g., birth/baptismal certificate of dependent/s, parents’ marriage certificate

FAQs

How do I apply for a scholarship?

When you fill in the Applicant Information Profile on your application dashboard, you have to select the type of scholarship you are applying for in the Other Information section found on the upper right hand part. Additional documents may be required depending on the type of scholarship you are applying for.

Note: One does not have to apply for the merit or PLM scholarship.

Can I apply for 2 types of scholarships?

You may apply for more than one type of scholarship. The Admissions Office will evaluate only complete scholarship applications.

Can transferees apply for a scholarship?

No. Transferees may only apply for scholarships after one year in the university. The scholarship application for current students opens annually from May 7-31.
